I’m Catherine L. Taylor, a weight loss/life coach, emotional eating expert, and mindfulness teacher. I have 30 years of recovery from compulsive and binge eating and have successfully maintained my weight during that time.
My work is to help you get off the dieting roller coaster, so that you may break free of your emotional eating patterns. I help you find new ways of being in the world that support your spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health. I teach you how to live and eat in a way that will help you achieve and sustain permanent weight loss.
Emotional eating is the number one reason why weight loss diet and exercise programs fail. Emotional eating is any eating that is done to avoid, numb, or regulate uncomfortable feelings, stress, and even happiness.
I have found that people who struggle with food and emotional eating are released from that prison once they learn the skills of mindful awareness and mindful eating, sometimes called intuitive eating, emotional self-nurturing and self-care; learn how to release release self-defeating thinking patterns; and learn how to set realistic limits and goals.
This turns off the urge to overeat and engage in other compulsive behaviors. When you feel better, you eat better! I have walked this path myself, and it has led me to peace and freedom.
My philosophy is simple: We are all born whole, perfect and complete. You have all that you need inside of you. It has always been there, waiting for you to find it. It is your divine birthright. My work is to teach you the skills to reconnect to this place of wisdom. This becomes the pathway back home to your thinner self.
I am simply a guide, lighting the path for you to find your way back into your natural state of joy and balance.
The goal of my coaching is to create a lighter, balanced, healthier, nourishing and joy-filled life. You will begin to see results in all areas of your life because how you do food is how you do life!
I coach and mentor people in the areas of: permanent weight loss, food addiction, compulsive, emotional overeating, binge eating recovery, mindfulness and mindful eating, meditation, self care and stress management, and self-esteem and body image issues.
Note: My work is inner focused, not religious, and fits with any belief system you may have, even agnostic. My work assumes that you have all the wisdom and answers you need inside of you.What you call this place — God, intuition, Higher Power, inner wisdom, or true self — is up to you. I am simply a guide bringing you back to the truths that are already inside of you.
The beauty of my coaching is that it is tailored to your individual needs. You are not given a “cookie cutter” commercial program, nor are you prescribed a certain diet. You are given tools and support that are appropriate to your lifestyle, personality type, life stage and needs. My methods also complement any weight management plan you may be currently following.

The How You do Food is How You do Life! ® Group Tele-Coaching Program is a 3 month, 6 session, every other week non-diet, mindfulness based weight loss and emotional eating coaching program that will put you on the path to success. By the time you’re done, you’ll be feeling more confident about your ability to lose weight and keep it off (without dieting), feel more at peace and in control of your relationship with food and your life, know how to deal with obstacles and setbacks, and feel nurtured instead of deprived. These groups are held live 3 times a year in Jan, March, and Sept.
