Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
So many people go from weight loss program to program looking for answers and often what they are seeking is something that has been within them the whole time. When we focus on looking for answers outside of ourselves, we often stop listening to the greatest expert of all – our inner wisdom. No one can or ever will be an authority on what makes us happy or what we need to feel deeply nourished, safe, healthy, happy, and whole. This can only come from deeply listening to ourselves in times of silence and reflection. The heart and soul speak in whispers and it’s important to carve out a practice of regular quiet time so that we can hear what our inner wisdom has to tell us.
As a coach, many people come to me looking for answers to questions that only they can answer. A good teacher and coach listens deeply and asks probing questions helping the person come to their own answers and insights. They create and hold the space for this to happen. They are a guide, teacher, and facilitator. They don’t proclaim to have The Way, they simply help you find Your Way. As a teacher of mindfulness, I assume that you have all that you need inside of you; I am simply a guide leading you back to the truth that lies inside of you. You will know you have accessed that place when you feel at peace, happy, and at home with yourself and the world.
My heart and soul speaks in whispers. Am I listening?
Today’s Affirmation
