Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.
If life is a banquet, then eating is meant to be a side dish, not the main meal. For many of us overeaters, overeating is the main dish of pleasure in our lives. The more we turn to food as a source of comfort and pleasure, the more our waistlines expand while our lives and spirits grow smaller.
Emotional overeating may start out as an enjoyable pastime, but it quickly turns into a joyless activity. If we are eating to tranquilize and numb ourselves, we soon become numb to our joy as well.
How can we recover our joy?
Joy is our natural state.
It is the by-product of living an authentic life. Living from the source of our being, and expressing our most authentic self is the key to a joyful existence. The more we surrender to a state of being, the more joy we have in our lives. It is not something we have to search for. It arises naturally when we are being who we truly are.
When we open ourselves up to wider possibilities and solutions to life, we will begin to recover our joy. Food will become one source of nourishment, amongst many others. As we begin to savor the full banquet of life, joy will become our constant companion.
How often do you experience joy in your life? How might you tap into your joy on a daily basis?
Has overeating numbed you to the joy all around you? Are you ready to quit settling for the side dishes and move on to the full banquet?

Is emotional eating keeping you from losing weight and living the life you want? Are you ready to master your weight and your life?
If so, you may be a candidate for coaching. Coaching can make the difference between success and failure.
I have found that people who struggle with food and emotional eating are released from that prison once they learn the skills of mindful awareness and mindful eating, emotional self-nurturing, developing a spiritual or meditation practice, and learning to set appropriate limits and goals.
This turns off the urge to overeat and engage in other compulsive behaviors. When you feel better, you eat better! I have walked this path myself, and it has led me to peace and freedom.
The goal of my coaching is to create a lighter, balanced, healthier, nourishing and joy-filled life. You will begin to see results in all areas of your life because How You do Food is How You do Life!®
