Weight Loss and Positive Thinking: Gratitude
Gratitude is the sunshine of an open heart.
Permanent weight loss is the work of opening your heart to all that is good in you and the world. It means living a life of gratitude. Gratitude puts you in the flow of life! Nothing shifts your energy as
quickly as gratitude. Love is the highest vibration there is. When you
are grateful you are letting love flow through you and toward you. You
are in a heightened state of receptivity.
Emotional overeater's tend to be negatively focused. They
focus on what is missing or what is wrong with their life. Negativity
leads to feelings of overwhelm, despair, failure, and
powerlessness. These feelings lead right to the refrigerator!
Negative thinking is a
bad habit and can be shifted with a little practice. The use of
affirmations and gratitude can quickly shift negative thoughts into
powerfully creative ones. When you feel better, you will eat better!
Questions:
Do you regularly count your blessings?
Do you focus on what is working well in your life? Or do you choose to
focus on what is missing?
Do you say thank-you often?
Do you choose to focus on what is good in others? Or are you a fault
finder, always looking for other people's flaws?
Do you give others frequent compliments and words of praise?
Meditation:
The most powerful prayer in the world is a simple thank-you. When you
are grateful you are radiating love and good will towards the whole
world. You are able to spread your love out into the world and
you will find it coming back to you in a myriad of ways. I call this
spreading a little sunshine. Gratitude is the sunshine of an open heart.
Today I will give thanks for all the good in my life. I choose to
notice the beauty and goodness in others. I will stop and smell the
roses. There is so much beauty in the world and I am grateful to be a
part of it. I choose to spread the sunshine and appreciate all that is
well in my world.
Every morning upon awakening I will open my eyes and say "Thank -you!"
Affirmations:
I am so grateful for all that I have been given. Even though there are
problems in my life, there is still plenty of good. Today, I
choose to notice the good!
