Letting go - Issue #51
December 31, 2013

Let go of what isn't working in your life, so that you may enjoy the bloom of new growth.
—Catherine L. Taylor

Permanent weight loss is about letting go of old behaviors and embracing the bloom of new growth. Nature can teach us a lot about letting go. Fall is a time of letting go. The leaves fall so that the trees can bloom even greater once again in the spring.

We are like the trees - in order to enjoy the bloom of a more nourishing life, we need to let go of the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that no longer serve us. We need to clear a space in our life to have room for the new to come in.

What new things do I want to bring into my life? What needs to be cleared away, so that I can manifest something new in my life? What are the habits and beliefs standing in the way of my achieving “thinner peace?” What small steps can I take to begin to clear away the dead weight in my life?

New Year’s Eve Ritual

Write out all the things you would like to let go of on slips of paper. Then burn these in the fireplace or a small burning bowl. As you burn each one, say to yourself, “I release you to the flow of life. Thank-you for serving me but you are no longer needed in my life. I have learned the lesson that you represented.”

New Year’s Day Ritual

Create a vision board using pictures cut out from magazines and newspapers that represent the vision of the new life or new you that you would like to manifest in 2014.

Learn how to make a vision board here.

What people say: Client testimonials

Dear Readers:

I am developing some new offerings in 2014 and would love your input, as I will be creating these with you in mind.

Please answer these questions and hit reply for a chance to win a full hour coaching session.

**Please note: only people who answer the questions will be considered for the free sessions.

I am going to offer my 12 week Permanent Weight Release course as a series of weekly teleseminars.

1. Would you prefer 12 half hour or 6 one hour, once a week teleseminars?

2. What day of the week and time is most convenient for you to attend?

The playbacks will be made available to those who can’t attend.

3. Would you be willing to pay for an ongoing, online weekly support group?

Monthly fee? Weekly fee?

4. Would you be willing to pay to hear 30 min expanded audio podcast versions of my weekly newsletter topics? These would be like a coaching session on the topic.

Any other advice, requests, or input you have about any of this is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Your participation in this means I can serve you in a much better way!

Happy New Year!

P.S. I'm a New Year's Baby so this is a very significant day for me!

Weekly Affirmations

I let go easily of the things that no longer serve me.

Life is a series of endings and new beginnings. I surrender the old so that I may receive the new.

I create a new life for myself each day by the choices I make.

My actions today determine my tomorrow.

Each day is another chance to get it right.

I can decide right now to start over.

I awaken to the newness found in this very moment.

Is emotional eating keeping you from losing weight and living the life you want? Are you ready to get off the diet rollercoaster and master your weight and your life?

If so, you may be a candidate for coaching. Coaching can make the difference between success and failure.

I have found that people who struggle with food and emotional eating are released from that prison once they learn the skills of mindful awareness and mindful eating, emotional self-nurturing, developing a spiritual or meditation practice, and learning to set appropriate limits and goals.

This turns off the urge to overeat and engage in other compulsive behaviors. When you feel better, you eat better! I have walked this path myself, and it has led me to peace and freedom.

The goal of my coaching is to create a lighter, balanced, healthier, nourishing and joy-filled life. You will begin to see results in all areas of your life because How You do Food is How You do Life!®

I coach and mentor people in the areas of: permanent weight loss, food addiction, compulsive, emotional overeating, binge eating recovery, creative self expression, spiritual direction, mindfulness, meditation, self care and stress management, self esteem and body image issues.

Note: My work is spiritually focused, not religious, and fits with any belief system you may have, even agnostic. My work assumes that you have all the wisdom and answers you need inside of you.

What you call this place -- God, intuition, Higher Power, inner wisdom, or true self -- is up to you. I am simply a guide bringing you back to the truths that are already inside of you.
